Nitration is a sign of oil degradation and occurs when nitrogen compounds are formed as a result of high temperature and oxidation. These compounds can lead to acids, deposits and color changes in the oil.
By FTIR spectroscopy, we identify nitro compounds in the oil and measure changes over time.
The analysis provides the customer with important information about whether operating conditions are causing abnormal breakdown of the oil, and when it may be necessary to change or adjust operation.
