Cloud point is the temperature at which paraffins begin to crystallize and make the liquid cloudy -- often the first sign that the fuel will begin to clog filter. This is important when using diesel in cold environments.

The sample is cooled under controlled conditions until it becomes cloudy. The temperature is recorded as cloud points.

The result allows the customer to assess storage temperature, additive use and reliability at low temperatures.
