This analysis quantifies the amount of diesel that has mixed into the engine oil. Fuel admixture reduces viscosity and impairs lubricity -- which can lead to accelerated wear and oil degradation.
We use a combination of infrared spectroscopy and distillation to measure the diesel content as a percentage. The method distinguishes diesel components from the oil base itself.
The result makes it possible to detect leaks, incomplete combustion or malfunction of the injection system. The customer is given a clear decision basis for both maintenance and oil change.
