Glycol in oil is a clear sign of leakage from the cooling system -- which can lead to serious engine failure. Even small amounts of glycol can cause sludge formation and blockages in the oil system.

The analysis is performed with a chemical test that specifically identifies glycol-based compounds in the sample. In addition, FTIR data are interpreted where available.

A positive finding requires immediate follow-up. The customer is clearly informed of the need for further troubleshooting and that the oil should be changed as soon as possible.
