DGA is used to analyze dissolved gases in transformer oil -- an important tool for detecting early signs of electrical faults such as partial discharge, arc or overheating.
The sample gas is analyzed by gas chromatography, and typical gases such as hydrogen, methane, ethylene, ethane and carbon monoxide are quantified.
The result gives the customer a precise picture of the state of the transformer, alerting to potential faults before they develop into serious damage or breakdown.
