Conductivity measurement provides insight into the fluid's ability to conduct electrical current. This is important in fluids where low conductivity can lead to electrostatic buildup, sparking and the risk of explosion.
The sample is analyzed by passing a weak current through the liquid and measuring the resistance. The result is displayed in pS/m or µS/m.
The customer is informed whether the fluid meets requirements for safe operation, especially in high-speed systems with low-polarity fluids.
