Total hardness indicates the amount of calcium and magnesium ions in water-based fluids – important factors in scale formation, scaling and reduced heat transfer. High hardness can damage equipment and reduce efficiency.
The analysis is done by titration or ion exchange measurement and is reported in °dH or ppm CaCO₃.
The customer gets a clear picture of the water quality and whether softening or water treatment should be used to protect the systems.
