This analysis quantifies the amount of diesel that has mixed into the engine oil. Fuel mixing reduces viscosity and impairs lubricity – which can lead to accelerated wear and oil degradation.
We use a combination of infrared spectroscopy and distillation to measure the diesel content in percent. The method separates diesel components from the oil base itself.
The result makes it possible to detect leaks, incomplete combustion or errors in the injection system. The customer gets a clear basis for decisions regarding both maintenance and oil changes.
