Inhibitors are additives that prevent rust, corrosion and foaming. Over time, these substances are consumed and their content should be monitored regularly – especially in coolants and water-based fluids.
The assay quantifies the amount of active inhibitors through chemical reaction or spectroscopy.
The customer will know whether the fluid still has sufficient protection, or whether the inhibitor package has been used up and the fluid needs to be re-treated or replaced.
