Microscopy is used to visually inspect solid particles in the oil sample. This is a qualitative method that allows us to identify particle type, shape and origin – particularly useful in cases of unknown damage or unusual findings.
The sample is filtered and examined under a microscope at high magnification. The images are documented for analysis.
The customer gets direct insight into the type of wear and tear that is occurring, and whether there are signs of serious damage that requires immediate follow-up.
