MPC (Membrane Patch Colorimetry) measures the risk of varnish formation in lubrication systems, a problem that can lead to sticking and valve failure. Varnish is formed by oxidation products that become insoluble and deposit as a coating.
The sample is filtered through a membrane filter, and the color formed is analyzed digitally. A high color value indicates high varnish formation.
The customer receives early warning of potential problems and can take action such as filtration, fluid treatment or replacement.
